As we are setting our eyes to head back to Lassin, The precious memories we had in our first foray are flooding back. The prayer to have all the funds we need to head out as well as all the resources we need. The first time we did not have the money until two weeks before we travelled and that really tried our Faith. I believe this time we will have to move up to the wire.
Our prayer is that our faith will not fail. The difference with this trip is that two of the most precious souls we have met will not be there to meet us.Steve and Carol Rose. In the short time we were with them I was trying not to attach too much to them, but their love and nurturing was irresistible, miss you tons guys. You have been endeared in our hearts. sometimes as I walked down the corridor, after you left, I would feel as if Steve was going before me and giving me a tour of the house. Precious moments.
We are confident in the work God has set for us, because of all the times satan tried to take us out. twice on the way to Lassin. We almost never reached Lassin with two major shake-ups to the vehicle we were in. Only god's mercy and grace saved us.We lost steering control and both front wheels were turned towards each other and we could easily have gone off the cliff. The Road to Lassin is an upward climb through a series of mountains, with a lot of twists and turns, ups and downs. Kind of reminds me of the Christians pathway. The alternative route which goes on the side of the moutain up to Kumbo does not have a steep climb, but it is full of potholes and is a very rough ride.
The people in Lassin are very welcoming. We got welcomes for a whole month from our arrival. But the warmest came from our predecessors and fellow labourers, Steve and Carol. Then began a crush course to get us on speed with the project. The local staff were also welcoming and Juliana was a special one, she sang us her welcome.
Steve left us a lot of resources to reach out to people and now it will be enhanced with a projector, 2 actually that David gates approved for our project. This makes our game plan so much easier. My prayer is that it will be a success not just in Lassin but in surrounding villages as well. Also I have been working on reaching out to muslims because we have a significant number of them around us.
I mentioned Juliana, because she has not yet accepted the faith, but the LORD is working on her. Her two children Lawrence and Onoria caught the flu bug and we gave her some natural remedy tips which worked faster than you can say abracadabra. And it saved her a bunch because she was planning on taking them to the health centre. Also around the same time, her hand got swollen from an unknown cause, and the instant icepacks that the LORD impressed us to carry came in handy. also that same weekend she got to keep her first sabbath at her home. The story with her is that every friday after school she goes to her home village to work on her farms(Mbignon). Our prayer is that she will finally accept the truth
More stories will come as the LORD blesses the work and gives us his grace to finish the work and herald the coming of our LORD and Saviour Jesus The Christ.
