Gregory

Lassin Breaking News.

Some of you know Gregory from the Lassin Video from Steve and Carol. We just learned in the past week that he has been dismissed by the CBC(Cameroon Baptist Convention). So yesterday, Sunday November 27 2011 was his final day as a Baptist lay Pastor in Kibo. This might seem like bad news at first glance but it is great news because Gregory has chosen the more excellent way. He has chosen to join the remnant movement as a lay evangelist preaching and teaching our message not only in Kibo but to its surrounds as well.

Steve studied with Gregory for two years and he took to our message sharing it with his congregation. Now he is truly making a New Beginning. (that's the series Steve studied with him). I got invited to his send off and though he was speaking in vernacular, the scriptures were being read in english and he was teaching them on how to face the judgment with boldness. It is truly amazing what the LORD can do with the truth in the hands of any man that avails himself to do his will. Join me in prayer for the work that Gregory has on his hands from here on.

Lassin Update

November 21 2011

Praise the LORD we are finally in Lassin. The rainy season has been a blessing to the farmers. They have received good yields. But the once mostly smoothe Oku road is now a bumpy ride. We arrived in Douala, Last monday evening . A couple of our bags came up missing and we had to spend two more days with the Ichu family. Bernadine cooks up quite a storm and the two days could have easily turned into months

But duty calls in Lassin and so here we are. And while we have been delayed getting here, satan has been doing everything to make sure we would be miserable when we get here. All I know is that our GOD is greater and when he speaks who can make him keep silence and when he rises who can ask him to sit down!? Our LORD has been preparing us for a special work and when he made the way for us to come down we know that he is ready to move. Prior to leaving we had been studying the book of Corinthians, and things that we have studied has helped us in dealing with some issues among a couple of our local teachers right out of the gate. And our prayer is that they will both take heed to the counsels that they partake in the joy of the LORD's work. I ask that you keep them both in your prayers. Their names are Divine and Vivian.

Also one of our volunteers had her laptop stolen from the house and there was no sign of a break in. No one knows exactly what happened but she lost her keys on the market day which was sunday the 13th.
And she discovered the laptop missing on monday the 14th. Divine one of our teachers had the bag in which he keeps the laptop to carry to the school to show bible films stolen, but God be praised this time the laptop was not in the bag. This happened 2 days later. My prayer is that the volunteers laptop will turn up and quite down the rumor mongers.

The foundation for the next class has been setup. Thanks to Gregory, Divine and Naphtaly for the work and co-ordinating the various aspects of the work. Also Gregory has added some splendor to the well by plastering it, all that is needed now is a paint job to put the finishing touch. I am thankful for all the contributions that have come in to accomplish this work.

Charles managed to price a pump for the well for me but I will wait to see if Gary can get a better price for me.

Please keep us in your prayers and our hope is that the LORD will shine through this seeming gloom that his name may be glorified. The LORD our God is mighty and worthy to be praised.
